The product reviews about the CanoScan 9000F are pretty great. One reviewer said that the agility and speed of the scanner are just impressive. He placed several pictures at a time on top of the glass plane to scan, and the software enabled him to independently select which settings he wanted for each of the pictures. He mixed the resolutions and the corrections on each. Then, the CanoScan 9000F began to scan each one separately. He also appreciated that the LED light did not require any warm-up time, and that he was able to immediately just get his scanning projects completed. He has scanned over 150 pictures in the first few days of receiving the CanoScan 9000F.

He said that this was much more than he ever did in two years, while owning another brand previously. Some did say that the scans of this product tend to be slightly bluer, but that this could be fixed with the corrective software features. Another review stated that one of the disadvantages of this scanner is that it uses FARE, which works well enough, but seems to not be as effective as the other products. Also the user interface is a bit difficult, but eventually he was able to get used to it. Another reviewer mentioned that if he had a choice between owning a much more expensive item and the CanoScan 9000F he’d choose the latter.

I’ve used this scanner for PDF, color pictures, black and white negatives (from the 1930s), and color slides. Everything turned out great! The editing program on the scanner let me brighten and fix the contrast on the old black and white pictures till they’re perfect. Virtually no warm-up time either; click what you want to do and it’s done, just like that! It also came with discs for Photoshop Elements for Windows and Mac; a nice bonus! – (M Schoberg)
